ABOUT KELY
Chosen beneficiary for HKFAA 2024 - KELY Support Group (KELY)
The KELY Support Group is a Hong Kong-based non-profit organisation established in 1991 with a mission to equip young people with the skills, knowledge and opportunities needed to support themselves and each other. This is achieved through practical programmes, information and expert resources for Hong Kong’s youth and their supporting adults: 1. to encourage young people to seek help for themselves and to help others, 2. to educate teachers and parents to understand youth areas including mental health, drug and alcohol misuse and 3. to advocate for improvements in youth mental health, including stigma reduction, strengthening the help seeking process and suicide prevention.
Taking a preventative approach, KELY’s programmes and services put great importance on peer support, young people helping other young people. The oganisation believes with good mental health, young people can thrive with resilience against the challenges of the modern society. Hence, the promotion and advancement of social and emotional learning are also key elements in its work. KELY adheres to the Sustainable Development Goals set out by the United Nations in its daily operation and community work.
